PROJECT DELIVERABLES

Bonnie Bee Flowers is a wedding and event floral studio based in Michigan City, Indiana, serving Northwest Indiana, Southwest Michigan and Chicagoland. Known for her colorful, expressive arrangements, Bonnie creates florals that feel natural, joyful and tailored to each celebration.

With an established body of work and a growing reputation, the business needed a website that better reflected the quality of her designs and the experience she provides to clients.

Bonnie Bee Flowers

Bonnie came into this project with a strong foundation already in place.

The goal wasn’t to completely reinvent the brand, but to refine and elevate the existing website so it better aligned with the level of work being produced.

While the original site included all of the right pieces, the experience felt disjointed. Key information was difficult to navigate, the homepage lacked a clear entry point and the portfolio didn’t fully showcase the depth of Bonnie’s work.

From the beginning, the focus was on creating a more intentional and structured experience, one that feels easy to navigate while allowing the flowers to take center stage.
The existing website featured beautiful work, but it lacked the structure needed to guide potential clients through the experience.

The homepage opened with a static visual that provided little context, making it unclear what the business offered or how to move forward. Information was present, but not prioritized, which made the overall experience feel fragmented.

Additional challenges included:

  • Testimonials that were easy to overlook and not fully integrated into the site
  • A portfolio that displayed work without context, depth or organization
  • Navigation that lacked clear pathways for users to explore services or inquire
  • A footer that functioned as an endpoint rather than a strategic touchpoint

The site needed to shift from simply presenting information to guiding users through a clear and intentional journey.

01. The Challenge

Redesigning an Existing Website to Better Support the Business

We began with the homepage, transforming it from a static introduction into a clear and welcoming entry point. The updated design immediately communicates Bonnie’s services, incorporates location for context and introduces intentional calls-to-action that guide users toward the portfolio or inquiry.

From there, we focused on how each section contributes to the overall experience.

Testimonials were reworked to feel more integrated and impactful, pairing client words with real wedding imagery to create stronger context and connection. The layout and typography were refined to improve readability and ensure these moments feel like a natural part of the site, rather than an afterthought.

A major focus was placed on the portfolio.

Rather than simply displaying images, the portfolio was restructured into a more elevated and immersive experience. We introduced a main portfolio page to organize work clearly, along with individual gallery pages for each wedding. These galleries include additional context such as location, vendors and design details, allowing visitors to better understand the level of customization and care behind each event.

Across the entire site, we simplified layouts, refined visual hierarchy and ensured consistency between sections. Even elements like the footer were redesigned to feel cohesive and functional, incorporating navigation, email sign-up and a visual extension of the brand through imagery.

Every decision was made to create a more seamless and intentional experience, while still allowing the florals to remain the focal point.

02. The Process

Creating Structure, Clarity and a More Intentional User Experience

The final result is a website that feels aligned with the level of design Bonnie Bee Flowers delivers.

The new site:

  • Creates a clear and welcoming first impression with strong messaging and direction
  • Guides users through the site with a more intuitive and structured flow
  • Elevates testimonials as part of the overall brand experience
  • Transforms the portfolio into a deeper, more editorial showcase of the work
  • Provides additional context that helps potential clients understand the full scope of each event
  • Maintains a balance between visual storytelling and usability

Most importantly, the website now supports the business in a more meaningful way, giving potential clients a clearer understanding of the work, the process and the experience they can expect when working with Bonnie Bee Flowers.
